Kellie Cummings is a seasoned marketing and communications executive and Lecturer in Johns Hopkins University’s Master of Arts in Communication program. In January of 2023, she joined VIA Institute on Character as Vice President of Marketing where she oversees marketing strategy, marketing operations, communications, and brand strategy across all audiences and channels. Previously she served as a fellow with the Center for Positive Leadership where she developed a training program that helps leaders cultivate relationships with people who will help them uphold their values throughout their lives.

Across her 25-year career, Kellie has advised executives and organizational teams on communications and business decisions to navigate crises, foster employee engagement, and strengthen brand loyalty. She has won 7 awards for her work, including the Platinum MarCom award for her communications leadership during the 2008 financial crisis. Her consulting experience includes advising The U.S. White House, TD Ameritrade, and Comcast Corporation.

Previously, Kellie led a communications team at global financial services company, T. Rowe Price, where she pioneered human-centered customer segmentation across the organization’s business lines and championed efforts to connect meaningfully with investors. Earlier in her career, she worked in NYC on multimedia projects for Jazz at Lincoln Center and Showtime Networks. She graduated from Trinity University where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and received the T-Pin for community service. She later studied film at New York University and received a Master’s in Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.
