Individual Professional Learning
Trauma-Informed Care & Strengths Integration This course explores the ways trauma-exposure can shift the way strengths are displayed and recognized by others. It includes strategies for using strengths to develop resilience and healing. Each learner will leave with a plan for trauma-informed strengths integration based on a foundation of relationships and self-efficacy.
Character Strengths and Classroom Management This course explores the ways both student and educator strengths can be demonstrated and activated, paying particular care to exploring internal biases for students’ display of strengths and strategies for managing responses to students. Each learner will evaluate their management system through a strengths-based lens for deeper, more equitable impact.
Character Strengths and PBIS This course is impactful for individuals and schools who are developing or currently invested in any positive school community plan. This course supports educators’ understanding of character strengths and school-wide integration. Educators will identify the connections between strengths, PBIS, or any other positive school community plans. Each learner will leave with strategies for how to develop connections clear to staff, students, families, and other stakeholders.
Modifying Curriculum for Individual and Group Work This course focuses on concrete strategies for supporting students in therapeutic or group settings through the combined lens of SEL and strengths. Learners will develop a process for supporting strengths work through the lens of trauma, equity, and mental health awareness. Additional focus and time on understanding the use of TLC curriculum and resources and how best to modify to fit students’ needs.
Strengths Identification for Special Populations Learn strategies for effectively administering the VIA survey with children who have developmental disabilities or have experienced trauma. Identify clear strategies for integrating strengths in the written IEP, from present levels to goals, objectieves, and ongoing goal tracking. Leave with a plan for integrating strengths-based behavior plans and processes that highlight students’ strengths and sense of belonging.
TLC Progress Monitoring & Measuring Impact This course explores the Thriving Learning Communities benchmarks to set quarterly and yearly goals, action plans, and for monitoring overall progress. It includes observation and coaching resources to support using TLC within the school. Each learner will brainstorm next steps for your school and potential SEL surveys to assess student impact.
Activating Your Strengths to Build Your Resiliency This course supports identifying triggers and warning signs of burnout. Each learner develops a clear understanding of using their strengths to improve resilience and susceptibility to burnout and compassion fatigue by exploring how strength how an individual’s unique strengths combination can be used to develop self-care habits that are sustainable and restorative.
